two-edged sword

I’ve read this verse hundreds of times, quoted it as much. The Holy Spirit has been revealing it to me even more. He’s doing His job. (John 14:26)  He has been emphasizing the word ‘IS’ to me. “He’s waiting for me to catch up to Him.” (Rich Mullins)

In previous blogs, we have mentioned about asking God for wisdom. I hope that you have been doing that.

Hebrews 4 (AMP)

12 For the Word that God speaks is alive and full of power [making it active, operative, energizing, and effective]; it is sharper (Greek – to cut by a single stroke) than any two-edged sword, penetrating to the dividing line of the breath of life (soul) and [the immortal] spirit, and of joints and marrow [of the deepest parts of our nature], exposing and sifting and analyzing and judging the very thoughts and purposes of the heart.

Revelation 19 (AMP)

11 After that I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse [appeared]! The One Who was riding it is called Faithful (Trustworthy, Loyal, Incorruptible, Steady) and True, and He…wages war in righteousness (holiness, justice, and uprightness).

15 From His mouth goes forth a sharp sword (Hebrews 4:12) with which He can smite (afflict, strike) the nations;

Isaiah 55 (AMP)

11 So shall My word be that goes forth out of My mouth: it shall not return to Me void [without producing any effect, useless], but it shall accomplish that which I please and purpose, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.

Jeremiah 23 (AMP)

29 Is not My word like fire? says the Lord, and like a hammer that breaks in pieces the rock [of most stubborn resistance]?

Are you receiving the understanding about His Word?

Remember how God wages war? FROM HIS MOUTH!!!

You are supposed to do the same. Because you are His Son. You are more than a conqueror and you gain a surpassing victory because Jesus Christ loves you. (Romans 8:37)

Let’s move on.

2 Corinthians 10 (AMP)

3 For though we walk (live) in the flesh, we are not carrying on our warfare according to the flesh and using mere human weapons.

4 For the weapons of our warfare (Greek – the tools of our military service) are not physical [weapons of flesh and blood], but they are mighty before God for the overthrow and destruction of strongholds.

And what are your tools?

Ephesians 6 (AMP)

17 And take…the sword that the Spirit wields, which is the Word of God.

Psalm 149 (AMP)

6 Let the high praises of God be in their throats (KJV – mouth; Hebrew – throat) and a two-edged sword in their hands. [Heb. 4:12; Rev. 1:15.]

Any idea where you get that two-edged sword?

Stay tuned.  We’ve only just begun.
